A member of the Pacific Opera Victoria Chorus, Matthew made his POV solo debut in La Bohème (2011) in the role of Parpignol.
Born in North Vancouver, Matthew was inspired with a love for music from an early age. His passion for performing inspired him to relocate to Victoria to study music, acting, and dance at the Canadian College of Performing Arts. Now a graduate, Matthew has continued his studies in the Victoria Conservatory of Music Opera Studio program.
His music theatre experience includes productions with CCPA, and work as performer, stage manager, and music director with the Rossland Gold Fever Follies. Credits include Fabrizio Nacarelli (The Light in the Piazza) with the Victoria Symphony; Fred/Petruchio (Kiss Me Kate), Polixenes (The Winter's Tale), Beadle Bamford (Sweeney Todd), Pat Denning (42nd Street), The Phantom (The Phantom of the Opera), and Captain Hook (Peter Pan). He was the also the Boy Soprano Soloist in Vivaldi's Gloria, and he sang for several years with the Amadeus Children's Choir and Vancouver Opera Children's Chorus.
